Run For The Cure

By: Dalton Dubetz

Every year 27,700 women and 260 men in Canada receive a Breast Cancer diagnosis.

Since 1992, the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure has become the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in support of the fight against Breast Cancer.

Join us on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at the Southcentre Mall in Calgary as we support our very own Jennifer Lapierre as she runs for the cure!

Jennifer will be running this year for her Aunt and Cousin who have both been diagnosed with Breast Cancer, and a friend that has unfortunately passed from the disease.

While this is her first time participating in the Run for the Cure, Jennifer has previously been a part of similar events during her time in the United States, and hopes to continue being part of the solution in the future.

Currently Jennifer’s goal is to raise $1,500, and, at the time of writing this article, she is sitting just $500 short of that figure while donations remain open.

Funds raised from Run for the Cure contribute to groundbreaking research, as well as support programs and services for those impacted by Breast Cancer.

A donation of $75 can fund a clinical trial for an individual to test new treatments to save lives and provide hope for numerous others affected by Breast Cancer.
